Review of Ian Willms "The Hound" by Musée Magazine

“The unrequited romance of the iconic Greyhound is certainly not lost upon the long-time bus traveller and Canadian photojournalist Ian Willms. His exhibition, The Hound, on view until May 30 at Towards Gallery in Toronto, is a documentary collection cataloguing over 1000 hours of alluring cross-America bus travels. This selection, as part of Toronto’s CONTACT Photography Festival, is a mode of transportation in itself, positioning one in Willms’ lumpy leather Greyhound seat and inviting indulgence in the unpredictable scenery, flickering along out the dust-smudged, sun-stained window: Where will this bus go? In 2013, the Greyhound took Willms on a vibrant 65-hour route from Buffalo, New York, and Los Angeles — just enough time to ponder the glamorous yet melancholic chaos within those four ambitious walls.” Read the full review here.
