Anna Binta Diallo

Public Installation at Verdun

Anna Binta Diallo’s ‘Wanderings in Verdun’, a large public mural is installed at the entrance hall of Denis Savard Building in Verdun, Quebec.

The mural was inspired by the history of Verdun, its cultural and social activities and native folklore. The mural stages key moments from the past and present through a gallery of syncopated characters. ‘Wanderings in Verdun’ expresses themes often referenced in Diallo’s practice; issues of migration, displacement and mythology are linked to personal history as well as the relationship between language, stories and identity.
